A nutcracker holiday wonderland

Step into the magic of the holiday season with a Nutcracker-themed Christmas tree and decor.

In this post, I’ll share how I styled my daughter’s Christmas tree to fit the theme along with practical tips for styling holiday decorations with toddlers. Plus, I've included shoppable links so you can easily bring this look to life in your home. Ready for some holiday cheer? Let’s dive in!

The tree

It was important to me to make sure her tree was great quality and I couldn’t be happier with this one from Balsam Hill, it looks so real and is the perfect size (4.5’ tall). Maybe this is just me but I also wanted to make sure the materials were as non-toxic as possible and I don’t think there’s any science behind this but it doesn’t have that plastic-y smell and that was big for me!

Bow topper & tree skirt

There’s no better source for heirloom quality keepsakes than Namesake Celebrations. For her bow topper I chose their Little Pink Check Linen Bow Topper along with the matching tree skirt and they are the perfect addition to her tree in the absolute prettiest shade of pink. They also have the sweetest ornaments. I chose one from their Favorite Things Collection where you can commemorate something your little loves (and there are so many options!) From teddy bears to ballet shoes, you can pick something meaningful and then personalize it with their name and year. I chose the Clara to go with the theme and oh my gosh how precious is it! The detail of the little nutcracker has me in a puddle.

Personalized ornaments

There’s something so special about working with small businesses that offer unique decorations and art that you wouldn’t see in big retail stores. For a treasure trove of personalized ornaments, look no further than Little Happies. No matter what you’re celebrating, they have something to make your celebration a little brighter. I went with their ballet slippers and vintage bow ornaments, and they couldn’t be sweeter!

I’ve been looking for a little art piece to add and this acrylic bow block by Girlies Art Design is just perfect. It fits the festive theme but can also stay out all year! Nikki was such a joy to work with, you can find her on Instagram and work with her to create a custom, handmade piece. So special! Plus, every girl’s room needs a pink Santa ornament!

Toddler-friendly Christmas tree tips

  1. Invest in a good quality tree

  2. Keep the ornaments soft with materials like felt

  3. Start a collection of personalized ornaments to commemorate each year

I hope this helps bring a little magic to this special season, Happy Holidays from my family to yours!
